Colours and shades

Between the quality of the photo, the lighting, the phone screens, the computers, how to reproduce the tints as faithfully as possible (without "correcting" the photos taken).

The purpose of this article is to help you identify the different shades of the articles for sale on the site.

Different shade designations are used on the site to help you identify certain differences.

Preamble

Some items are dyed by my suppliers at my request in order to be able to offer you a complete range of coordinated elastics/staples...

However, this is not possible for all items, especially textiles, certain elastics, .... Indeed, the minimum orders imposed by manufacturers are incompatible with the retail haberdashery market.

For this reason, not all whites, beiges, reds, etc. will be exactly the same, depending on the nature of the article.

However, some manufacturers offer colour cards with acceptable minimum orders for certain tracked and stock managed items. But there is white and white, beige and beige .... the shades are endless.

The whites

  • EXTRA WHITE / WHITE

Extra white is generally a product that has undergone a bleaching process. Not necessarily very ecological. But that's another subject.

Extra white is therefore a brighter shade of white. But we are still in white...

  • ECRU / IVORY / CHAMPAGNE

Ecru is the equivalent of off-white - it is a white with a hint of beige/grey

Ivory / champagne is a more or less important gradation with a yellow tone.

The beiges

  • CHAIR / BEIGE

The pulpit is a beige with a pinkish to orange tone.

  • LIGHT / DARK / BROWN BEIGE

Tips and tricks to remember

For a thin, transparent fabric, the more it is folded / the more layers there are, the darker the shade will appear - When comparing the shades of different items, place them side by side and present them in the same configuration as your work. Also consider the lining if it is visible.

Light plays an essential role - do your tests in daylight. I know I'm also one of those who works in the evening ... but it can sometimes play tricks ...

And if you are not sure about the choice of the shade or the association between 2 articles or if you are looking for a very precise shade, do not hesitate to contact me; I will be happy to help you in your choice.
