    The MILA swimming costume is a feminine one-piece swimming costume, available in several finishes. The swimming costume has a very comfortable and elegant "curvy" shape that will adapt to your morphology. Each size is available in 2 cup sizes B/C or D/E.

    Each version is available with breast darts and is lined in the front. Different cut-outs are possible and add a sophisticated touch.

    You can choose between :
    - 3 front versions
    - 2 back versions with different types of knotting

    The models are presented as follows:

    - model A : one-piece swimming costume, classic shape
    - model B : swimming costume with horizontal yoke in the front underlining the waist
    - model C : swimming costume with horizontal underbust yoke and full cups. This model is available with a cup lining that allows the insertion of foam. This is the most supportive model.

    You can reverse the type of back to your liking. They are interchangeable on each model!

    The Léo pattern is designed for men. A practical and comfortable pair of swimming shorts. They're also easy to wear as a casual, fashionable piece of clothing.

    You can choose between 2 versions:
    - model A: Bermuda-style mid-length shorts.
    - model B: short shorts.

    Each version includes options:
    - 1 - two side pockets
    - 2 - a patch pocket on the back
    - 3 - mesh inner briefs

    The waistband is elasticated with a drawstring.

    We designed the Léo shorts to be both functional and elegant.
    The finishes are designed to be professional!

    Made from a warp and weft fabric, the Léo shorts are easy to make, provided you have a few notions of sewing and know how to use a sewing machine.
    If you are a beginner, we advise you to make the pattern without the options: pockets, inner briefs - which make assembly more complicated.

    The shop also sells the right textiles to make these shorts. All you have to do is get started!

Making your own swimsuit is an accessible sewing project provided you have a suitable pattern. Are these patterns in PDF or on paper sent by post?

The choice is yours. On each pattern you can choose a pdf pattern or a shipped pattern.

How do I sew elastic onto a swimming costume?

When sewing a swimsuit, it is important to use a elastic You'll need to choose the right elastic for your swimsuit, often in a variety of colours. To do this, you'll need to choose a specific swimming costume elastic, often in rubber (shim) or Silicone, which is designed to withstand moisture and chlorine. To sew the elastic, we advise you to consult blog posts or certain videos. Use a sewing machine or your overlocker as an option. It is strongly advised not to stretch the laminette as you sew to ensure no distortion of the fabric (at best, apply slight tension).

Do you have a free pattern?

The only free lingerie pattern we offer is our Suzanne" thong pattern. We don't have any free bra patterns at the moment.

Are Idonim swimsuit patterns suitable for beginners?

Several patterns in our collection are suitable for sewing beginners. The ANNA (bikini) pattern is specifically designed to introduce you to swimwear sewing. Each PDF pattern includes detailed step-by-step instructions, with explanations for each stage: cutting, assembling, attaching elastic, and finishing. If you're a beginner, start with a simple bikini style before tackling a one-piece swimsuit.

Are the patterns available to download as PDFs or are they in paper packs?

We offer our swimsuit patterns in two formats: as a PDF download (available immediately after purchase) and as a paper pattern posted out to you. The PDF format is the most practical: you can print it at home, choose the size to cut out, and reprint it if necessary. Both formats include the same comprehensive sewing instructions.

Can you sew a swimsuit without a serger?

Yes, it is absolutely possible to sew a swimsuit without an overlocker. A zigzag stitch set on your regular sewing machine will allow you to assemble the stretch fabrics used for swimwear. Some sewing machines also have a built-in stretch stitch that is perfectly suitable. The detailed instructions included with each pattern will guide you according to the materials you have available.

Which thread should I use to sew a swimming costume?

Concerning the wireit is preferable to use a polyester yarn water and wear-resistant thread. Polyester thread is ideal; it's an all-purpose thread, available in all haberdasheries in a range of varied colours. Don't forget to use a special needle for stretch fabrics for best results. You can also use Mettler Seraflex filament, elastic thread that you can use with a straight stitch. I also use the Foam filler which I put in the loopers of the overlocker, thread no. 80 quite thick which, on contact with water, will swell and be particularly soft on contact with the skin.

What fabric for a swimming costume?

To sew a swimsuit, it is essential to choose the right materials to ensure comfort, durability, and resistance to water, UV rays, and chlorine. The most commonly used fabric for a swimsuit is lycra fabric containing elastane, as it offers good stretch, bounce for a perfect body fit, while being lightweight and quick-drying. The neoprene is also popular for certain models, especially those designed for activities such as diving, because it is thicker and has better thermal insulation. The polyester is also a durable choice, resistant to the effects of sun and chlorine.

I love jacquard and lurex fabrics, which allow for the creation of high-quality, original, and comfortable swimsuits.

Our women's swimsuit patterns cover a wide range of sizes, from 34 to 46 depending on the style. Each PDF pattern includes all sizes in a single file: simply print and cut out the pattern corresponding to your measurements. The ANNA, MATILDE, GIULIETTA, JOY (bikini) and MILA, JILLIAN, MAEVA, BLUE (1-piece) patterns are available in this size range.
