Elastic bra: choosing the right support for your lingerie creations
The'bra elastic is an essential supply for making lingerie. Whether placed under the bust, along the top of the cups or on the sides of the back, it ensures the support and comfort of your handmade bra. Which bra elastic for which use?
The choice of your elastic depends on three criteria: the type of bra, the level of support required and the desired aesthetic. For the Underbust (band under the cups), a 12 to 18 mm elastic provides firm and durable support, also contributing to all-day comfort. For the high hats made from lace or stretch fabric, a thinner elastic (8 to 12 mm) provides the necessary support without stiffening the cup. Our item What finishes for your full cup bras? Our scalloped and picot elastic
Our decorative elastic bands garlands and to Picots give a neat finish to your creations. They are sewn right sides together with a zigzag stitch, slightly stretching the elastic to distribute the ease.
