Making lingerie requires a variety of supplies. Our sewing kits are designed to quickly provide you with all the supplies you need to make your creations.
They are easy and accessible, perfect for beginners, but also for more experienced sewers.
We offer kits in different sizes: small, medium and large.
But how do you choose your kit?
What type of bra are they suitable for?
The kits (unless otherwise stated) are suitable for underwired bras - the cups are "blocked" with a stabilising lining such as a marquisette or stable lining knit.
Your pattern should therefore be designed for this type of bra.
Particular attention is paid to the choice of supplies, their quality, fit and comfort.
What does a bra kit contain?
All kits include the same type of supplies:
- lace
- lining: marquisette stabilising mesh
- powernet
- elastic bands
- armature cover
- staple
- rings and adjusters
- decorative knot
Quantities may vary according to kit size. The size/width of certain items such as the elastics (underbust, straps), the clip and the rings and adjusters (adapted to the width of the straps) will also vary.
The length of the lace is variable. We always specify the width of the braid and its length. We allow enough lace for your project: 1.5m for a small size and 2 to 2.5m for a medium or large size.
However, the size of the powernet coupons and lining are always the same, whatever the size of the kit.
Please note: the kits do not contain the frames or pattern. You can also find these items in the shop. For the choice of fittings I advise you to consult the articles written specifically on this subject.
How do I choose the right kit size quickly?
Are you just starting out and want to make your choice quickly? The size of the straps is an indication
- Small size : 12mm wide shoulder straps with 12mm elasticated waistband and 30-32mm wide clip
- Average size : 15mm wide straps with 15mm elasticated waistband and 57mm wide clip
- Large size : 18mm wide shoulder straps with 15 or 18mm elasticated waistband and 57mm wide clip
The questions you may also want to ask yourself are :
- How wide are the straps of your commercial bras?
- Refer to the table below.
However, there's nothing to stop you from choosing another size of kit depending on the aesthetic you're looking for.
But don't forget to take into account the comfort and support you're looking for, not forgetting the recommendations you received with your boss, of course!
