      This kit includes all the essential supplies for sewing a quality swimming costume:

      • Carefully selected beach fabrics, resistant to chlorine, salt water and UV rays
      • Ultra-soft swimming costume foam lining
      • Adapted elastics (laminette, silicone elastic...) for optimum support
      • Accessories included: separator, hooks for removable straps...

      Each element is perfectly coordinated and calibrated for headache-free sewing, even if you're new to making lingerie or swimwear. You'll have enough elastic and fabric to test and adjust your machine.

       

      The pattern is not included in the kit, but several models are available on our website - this kit has been specially adapted to make the Blue, Mathilde and Anna patterns.

    What fabric for a swimming costume?

    For a swimming costume, the most common and most suitable fabrics are Lycra (also known as elastane or Spandex) and polyesteroften mixed together.

    Lycra brings theelasticity and the freedom of movementwhile polyester offers good chlorine resistance and UVIt also dries quickly. Nylon is also sometimes used, which is hard-wearing but may not be as soft to the touch.

    To sum up, a good swimming costume is generally a mix of Lycra and polyester to combine comfort, durability and quick drying.
