How to attach elastic to knickers?
To achieve a perfect finish, pin the elastic on, distributing it evenly along the fabric edge, then sew with a zigzag or overlock stitch. Be sure to stretch the elastic slightly as you sew so that it fits the curves perfectly.
To calculate the length of elastic for a pair of knickers, measure your waist or hip measurement where the elastic will sit, then remove approximately 10 %.
