Why choose a wide lace for a kimono?

For this hack of the Lola's kimono, the choice of lace is crucial.
Here, a wide lace isn't just an aesthetic choice, it's above all a technical one.

A wide lace allows:
– more precise placement on the pattern, without multiplying seams,
– improved stability during cutting and laying,
– a readable pattern that structures the garment and enhances the lines of the kimono.

It also facilitates inlays, particularly on the sleeves and back, while ensuring a clean and professional finish.

It's this type of detail that makes the difference between a simple version and a couture version; which allows you to transform an existing pattern into a completely different garment.

In the tutorial I'll be providing, I'll explain how to choose and use this type of lace for a controlled result.
